I picked up this baby at a Tampa gun show. I liked it because it is a Case, a traditional knife of sorts, albeit modified. If this knife doesn't belong in this forum, please delete the OP, no problem. I thought you fellow "traditionalists" would find it interesting.

done to buck 110's, frankly i'd be terrified to push the button:eek: big old blade flying out of a heavy framed knife!!!
But really it looks pretty cool, ive never handled the mako, hows it compare in size to the 110?

Nice one!

Gene, the Mako is comparable in size to the 112. The Sharks Tooth is the big brother, which is comparable to the 110.

It's thinner on the sides of the handle but I think it is easier to manage (to handle?) than the 110; it's got a nice heft to it and good balance from the two heavy ends of the handle. Once I got it I gave it a few passes on a ceramic rod and it was sharp to shave. The blade fits very firmly on the handle, no play at all. I'd never seen one of these knives before and I really like it. I must mention that I've always been a fan of the Buck 110.

for clarifying that for me, i always liked the case mako, especially the long pull on the blade:thumbup:
enjoy it!

the Mako is nice. it seems a little more delicate than the Buck to me but is surely a good looker.

The Mako is a quite a bit smaller than the Buck 110, so maybe it's not as brutish. I love mine, in red G-10, it's a really convenient size and a great looker.

i was kind of vague in my statement. i should have said that the Case Mako feels less robust than the Buck 112. i carried my Mako around for a while but decided it's too nice looking to mess up, as i've got plenty of other cutting tools. blade feels less robust. not a dig at the Mako, i just use the 112 for chores more. :o
