It did have some sort of oil that I've never seen before. But I digress....thanks again moose. Super fast shipping, great Blade. Ordered Thursday, and its on my doorstep 1030 am Saturday. So is this the result of Cliching it?? I really like the FPR someone did that has that same patina on it but only on the upper half of the blade. I really gotta do this to one of mine.

I knew it from moose since the packing to protect the knife was old playboy pages and empty jack daniels bottles. Weird.
