I was wondering if anybody else here would think a Damascus steel either carbon or stainless would be cool for a BK9?

Good luck at that. A billet of damascus, even a less-expensive carbon steel billet, big enough to make a BK9, would be on the order of 200-300 bucks. Stainless would be a ton. I don't see that ever happening, outside of a custom order with a maker. I'd prefer a 3V version, but that's also not gonna happen for the same reason. Beckers are inexpensive but high quality. No sense making a Becker that's as expensive as a Busse.

If I wanted a 200-300$ Becker I'd probably just have one custom made out of CMP-3v or M4.

I would like to see a drop point Bk9 or Bk7.
I think it would be less grind time?
I like 1095, it's easy to sharpen and holds a nice edge.

I would agree; maybe some different knives in the venerable 1095 rather than more of the same in exotic steels. BTW, the BK-12 that just arrived is pretty close to a drop point 7, about an inch shorter. Or like a thin BK-2 with a thumb ramp. Me likey!

A damascus BK9 or any of them would look pretty sweet but I can go a whole weekend in the woods without having to sharpen a 1095 blade and in the unlikely event I manage to break a becker Ka-Bar will replace it. I'd rather see more models in the same steel.

I did come across a cool youtube video not long ago where a guy was taking old steel cable and forging it into damascus billets to make knives from and they looked awesome. I posted it in one of the snark threads.

Cable damascus is a genre unto itself. You could spend all day - or a month, or a year - studying up on that if you like :)

I would like to see a Talonite BK6.
(Just so I can laugh at it!)

Instead of runs of different steels, it would be cool if they did runs of un-coated blades, maybe without ramps.

1982? I wasn't even born yet...

Ouch!! That hurts!

I vote for unobtanium as well. Then I could melt the knife down and make .22LR bullets to reload since appartently that is what they are using based on stockage levels at the local stores...

This sounds like a great idea!
