Special edition suggestions

Well, when I get everything here taken care of I will. I have several ideas I would like to try on it. I have never "pimped" a knife before but, this will be my first I think.

There are lots of knives I would like to have like one of Sam Wilson's, a Demko max4,a spyderco endura Super blue. Just to name a few. I also want one of Mr. Becker 's excellent field bags.

"cannot comment officially" :D

I would love to see limited edition runs of the BK1 and Patrol Machete before I would want the exotic steels. But then again, I don't really know enough about blade steels for that to matter much. To me, 1095 is about as good as it gets...or at least as good as it needs to be for my purposes.

Specialty runs are a bit more complicated and costly than you might think. A major factory like Ka-Bar isn't like an independent maker who can just buy a bar of steel and make a one-off...

1982? I wasn't even born yet...

probably I shouldn't have put that on this thread, but you did specify Adam-Ant-ium. Now I feel old.
Them darn young whippersnappers don't know what they missed... I "danced" to that song with a real live girl at my Junior High spring dance. I was a terrible dancer (still am) but I was pretty impressed with myself at the time :D She was impressed enough to pass me notes in class and meet me at the library downtown after school to play chess... good times. :)

Is that a euphemism for something else, or did you really play chess? :D

Hmmm................I'd still like to see a traditional shaped BK&T Heavy Duty (1/4") meat cleaver, made out of 1095 CroVan. A regular 3/16" or .188 one would be nice too.

Back to your regular scheduled program........................................:D

special steel: pricey; MSRP $214 on sale for $133. Quite beautiful IMO, but too rich for my blood:

That's a pretty good deal, honestly. I can barely buy good damascus for that price, much less grind it into a knife and HT it.

Not a euphemism, we actually played chess. And talked about stuff, like what a doofus our geometry teacher was, and that sad girl in science class who was always trying to get attention because she had boobies. We listened to actual 33RPM rock'n'roll records on a crappy little turntable that the public library had for exactly that purpose. There was some giggling and nervousness involved... I stole a smooch once and well... let's just say lots of blushing and awkwardness resulted. :)

Good Lord, I feel old now... LOL.

I believe it...it's just too expensive for me. I'd rather spend that kind of money on a custom....;)

You're not old, man. You're....experienced. I was trying to explain to my kids about 45's the other day, one song per side. My older one thought is was a waste of material for two songs...my 9 year old, well...I'm not sure she even knows what a record is.
Now I feel.....experienced. :stung: I just now remembered that the only place you'd see this: :) was on the front of a 3/4 sleeve baseball t-shirt. OK, now I feel old.
