I'm stunned with the great work of Kumar on these knives. The 10" BDC is superb, and the tools are actually of usable size. The karambit is Dui Chirra ground, choil finger cut-out, false edge sharpened, convex ground :D :D :D
Both have the old style bolster and full tang construction. Fit is 10/10 (so far. We'll see how it goes with Chicago summer humidity)
I apologize for the crummy picture, but I was in a hurry to meet Pen's expectations  and just slapped them on the scanner. I'll try to do better.
Thickness at bolster: BDC .292" - karambit .295"
Now, I gotta figure out how to work the karambit.   Any clues will be appreciated. :p :D

Cool Brian! Did the kerambit come with a sheath? Which wood is that?

My BDC arrived today as well, its even more than I expected. Feels to be the perfect all around khuk, not too light, not too heavy, handle is the perfect size

That is awesome!

Just love it.

Yes....sheath pic too!

how to work it - just stick your finger in the hole, Brian... :p :p

Congrats on being the first! We're all terribly jealous...

Glad they made it with steel furniture.

Note on the design: The fullers were a last second decision. I just kept looking at it and looking at it....unable to see what it lacked. Then I remembered just how pretty the 10" BDC was with its fullers and I knew we had to have them. Lots of places make kerambits, but how many of them are made with fullers? ;)

That's one design element that really only ever see on khukuris - and that's what makes this one so special.

Such a relief to see the kerambit finished.

What a project!

You didn't tell me they had fullers Dan... :-(

Those look great Brian. Hope you can bring them to MWKK05!

Received my BDC

One of the most beautiful Kuks I've ever held or seen.
1-14 inches point to butt
2-5 inch handle with two pins--
3-looks like a stainless steel bolster--
4-balances 1 1/2 inches in front of handle--
5-1/2 inch from the rear of the cho to bolster-no cho creep
6-dui chirra- two deep fullers as smooth as silk
7-hanshee style graceful curve to spine
8-meticulous polished horn handle

Got to send Bill a message that I'll take another when everyone has been supplied----if any are refused

Kumar has become an artist for sure. I'll gladly take anything he makes .

This is the most perfect concealed carry blade I own. :D :D :D :D

<sniff> no khuk today (as in "No soup today")>

If I'm lucky, mine will arrive tomorrow.

....and twirl it around on your finger. Go to Emerson's web site and watch him do two at once. Backwards, forwards.

Just be careful ya don't slash open your wrists with that thing! :D

Please, by all means all of you be careful with those. A friend of mine in a similar deal was using a Kershaw 1416 with a lanyard attached to flip the knife open and succeeded well. The knife flipped open and stabbed him in the wrist pretty bad. :grumpy: :(

Yes, be careful. We don't want anyone to suffer a kerambite.

ba-dum-ching! :D :p :D

The Ricasso (is that the right term?) on the Kerambit looks almost rippled or something. Is that a result of the kami markings and the camera?

Wow, that's one of the few kerambits I've seen that I've liked! very nice. Beautiful design and work, looks very useful.
The BDC is another great design, I use mine in the kitchen. And for whittling. Works great for both!

I believe DemonTeessu was offering to make such a vid for kerambit instruction...id start there or with Laci Tsabo (sic?)

My Kerambit arrived today!! It is VERY well done. Dan, the fullers DO make it perfect. I have held off on getting a kerambit till now. It was worth the wait. The fullers were very well executed and finished. The overall project is great. I am very happy I signed on. I just ordered and prepaid to get one of those 14"BNM's also. I need one of those puppies to go with the two ten inchers we have. ;) Anyone not sure about these kerambits can rest assured that they are well done and well designed. The sheath is quite nice also. All in all this is a great suprise delivery for today!
I enclosed a picture that I hope shows the blades nice flowing lines.

SWEET!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

Dadgum Dan...why didn't you tell me how nice these were? Gonna do any more of the Iron ones? (PLEASE?)

I like that horn-handled Kerambit....nice!

Hey, I'm all for it. But I'm not footing the bill for everybody else this time. ;)

Maybe if 5-10 people got together and chipped in $15-20 ea. to cover purchasing the materials and shipping to Nepal, I'd go for it. I'd even consider some stabilized materials.
