I have around 40 knives. I'm going to have some time on my hands for the next month and a half and am planning on cleaning/lubing up my knives sometime during that time. I have the standard allen head bits/flat&phillips bits and Torx bits. I saw on a manufacturers website that they use "Torx-like" 6-pointed bits on their knives. I was wondering if it is really necessary to order their "Blue Box" toolset just to work on their knives.(Benchmade)?

Standard Torx will usually work.

Only a few makers seem to enjoy watching owners buy security bits and special tools. (thankfully)

Thanks for the replies. That was my post in the other forum and I got the info on the Husky Precision Torx set. Will go and pick one up tomorrow.
