Specs And Pricing For The TNT-15 Sword

Fought off the urge to get two more coated, one bronze(Gold) and one green. Seeing them off the site brings regret...Oh well, Very excited for midnight blue.

This has probably been asked many times but, Is rusting quick to get under the res-c handle? Could I put something there to prevent that if it does?

My ws1020 started getting rust under the edge of the res-c. But I use it in the kitchen and wash it. It’s hard to dry that spot. I’m planning on keeping this raw dog oiled and no contact with water. We shall see.

Whelp, I didn’t heed the warning and the coated models are gonzo, so, Raw Dawg it is.

The raw dog is a much safer bet than what you might have been let to believe.. the rawdog TNT that is ofcourse.. i in no way advise any other forms of raw dogging it

Leonardo63 Leonardo63 Can you PM with more info on how to go about doing this treatment?
Just saw this last night - Here is a link to one thread from a while back when I did the vinegar method.

Also this one where I did the TGSE A2

Do these processes hold up to Use, like some battoning, or just to look pretty in a safe?

*Not meant to sound snarky, serious question..... I've done some old school style kinds of blueing that I've been pretty happy with.
I might practice on my 1311 which is the same steel as the TNT

The Batac I have used quite a bit and it's held up beyond my initial expectations which really weren't that high. I haven't put oil on it since it was finished and still looks pretty much the same as the photos. the TG, I've wacked a couple branches trimming limbs that hang down and annoy me while mowing - and same deal, pretty much as you see it.
I would imagine battoning would be a really good test to see how it would hold up but haven't done it.

Holy Moly ordered 2 more.
I think I may send one down to Tucson for Testing and Let my son try one out ;)

Can not beat the price. its like 3 TNT's or one AK ? :)

I was quite tempted to get another but I stuck to my rule of discipline - but hands down, this will be a hot one and any that hit the X will only go up in value once they get out here in the real world. This was one of the most absolute no brainers ever.

BTW - Here I thought it was only 2 years ago, it's actually been 3 That's how it is as the years go by, they add up a hell of a lot faster than you think. 😭

Glad I read back through those threads. There's a couple small points in there that can make a mess of the job such as heating the blade up to remove ALL moisture from the steel. It's not a job you want to do in high humidity. That part reminded me of how much reading and science I went through to get where I did.

The one thing that can be an issue is heating a big stew pot up on the stove just to boiling of vinegar - Wife was out of town a few days so it didn't bother me. Actually, it's no worse than when the wife runs vinegar through the coffee pot to "clean" it.

Not a Busse or kin knife, but I've done old world blueing with a Bk 9 that I'm pretty happy with.... I'm leaning on doing this with my 1311?
But I'm probably going to keep my TNT natural, idk?

Looks better in person.
*Sorry for drift

I actually just microwaved some in a mug and ladeled over the blade on a large plate and let it sit switching sides each go, re microwaving it in the mug between washings and it worked just as good as a full on soak
