Speed Bump Mod

Beautiful job. I would imagine the end product would be a bit hefty.

Someone out there probably makes hex mortising chisels, but I couldn't afford to ask the price. If you have a mortising machine, could you use a small chisel to shape the corners for your hex? Alternative: round off the corners of the nut, epoxy in place.

I need to get some woodstock laminates and try a little of this myself. Keep the pix coming!
 
When matured it looks gorgeous! I absolutely like it.

What do you feel about rounding/sanding slightly off the sharp, external edge of the torx screw holes? I always have the paranoia of wood edges getting damaged but it is in a round hole so it is safer.

By the way, I also love your choice of wood, Lignum Vitae is my favorite ever!
 
That's not a bad idea. Just a little bit of a chamfer around the holes.

I haven't had any problems yet with damage, but I haven't carried this knife much lately.
