SPEEDTECH or Sebenza under the tree?

What would you rather find under the Christmas tree? I know they are very different knives and are best suited for different needs.
Take into consideration what one would be the most fun to open the rest of the presents with, flick while watching football, showoff to guests that might visit, etc!
Im talking fun over function here!
I have been debating this so long that it's way to late to have either one under my tree!

Sometimes the anticipation, the hunt itself, is fulfilling. Have a nice Holiday and Happy New Year.

Well, people seem more impressed with the Speedtech than any other knife I own. For myself, I would pick the Sebenza. No, the Speedtech. No, Sebenza...

Lucky I don't have to choose

I'd have to go with Speedtech as the funner/cooler knife. And plus if I wanted to impress the chicks I'd show them a Speedtech. Sebenzas are pretty plain to ordinary folks. And plus Speedtech is a better name.

I have never owned either one, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say the Speedtech. I have really wanted one for quite awhile now, but I still cannot get my question answered as to how many handle colors are available. I have seen some that were not listed as an option on their website. I know, I know! I should just E-Mail the folks at Speedtech or ,for that matter, just ask Jim. I guess I kind of like the suspense also, since I am not going to buy one until I can handle, or at least, see it in person.

No, Speedtech.

But I did give a Sebenza to my brother this year, so I guess I will have to say Sebenza.

Hmm, but since this is for myself I do want another Speedtech next. Alright, Speedtech.

But I am hoping for a Wood Inlay model, so maybe Sebenza.

But if we can get enough people to place orders for a Synergy Slim in California Camo colors, I'll be getting another Sweptpoint soon as well.

But if I'm showing off, maybe a nice decorated Sebenza.

But those California Camo models are nothing to sneeze at either...

I hope I was able to help confuse you as much as myself

Since I already have an older ATS-34 Sebenza I'm leaning towards the SpeedTech. Jim answered my Email inquiry very quickly. I will probably will give them a call after Christmas to see what options are available for quickest delivery. I like the CA camo options! My only wish would be other blade material choices, besides the standard and Damascus! M2 would be cool or some of the CPM steels! Maybe when I get my Talonite...... I wonder if that would void the warrantee?

Since I already have a Speedtech, I'd want a Sebenza, but if I didn't have either, I'd go for the SpeedTech. It's a really cool, high tech knife that fits very well in my hand.

The Sebenza is a classy yet rugged workhorse, and the decorated ones are very beautiful, but something about the SpeedTech's grabs me.

Tough choice. They are 2 fantastic knives. Both have that stonewashed blade that looks and feels great.Their 2 of the smoothest opening folders I have.Since I have 2 sebenzas already I'll have to pick the Speedtech-with a dark pewter color handle.

BIG problem....at least for me since I own neither of these fine blades.

The real problem is folks like this guy Copfish that bookmarked a favorite jpg into my brain, dang it....can't get rid of that picture http://www.millenniumtools.net/special/sebbie.jpg

Well no more blades on this end till I recover from the holidays, but a little dreaming don't hurt none....RIGHT.

btw Neil we are only bout an hour away, I'd really like to be able to see some of those neck knives up close some day.

Cant go wrong either way, but I have a Speed Tech I wouldnt trade for nothin! Thanks for making a great knife Jim!

Since I already have a Sebenza under the tree (from my wife) I'm not going to complain. The Speedtech is definately the sexier one compaired to a plain Sebenza. Come to think of it I do have a birthday coming up.

I asked about the Speedtech in the reviews forum and only got a couple of responses, so I am going to ask again here.

Has anyone who actually owns a Speedtech used it as an everyday use and abuse knife? I am not talking about just putting it in your pocket for show, but actually used it.I would like to know how they hold up under hard use.

How many times must I mention SPEEDTECH to get every ones attention!!!!!!!
Quality, design, price (yes price.. try to find a custom built as well with out the price beening at least 2X). This knife will draw attention if you want that, it will work as hard as any knife ever designed.
And for the capper, the company WILL stand for you not against you..
With custom extras you will not find a better worker or a knife that is form and function in one unit..........

Okay, I got a Speedtech a while back and since th image isn't too big, I'll put it here:

and I have an NIB large Sebenza on the way... (prior knives al gone in trades)... I may yet trade the Sebenza (although I am a little concerned having not gotten an email response from the seller and the m.o. was shipped a while back) .. Is it because the synergy is a better user? no; the sebenza has the edge here. But the plain Sebenza is not nearly as good looking. PS, the blade is longer than it appears as the scanner was leaning the knife "tip away" from the glass.

Oh, I forgot to mention. These scans were early in the life of the knife. It has numerous dings, scars and has been resharpened several times on the old Tormek. Maybe I will rescan and show what a month of use does. It has held up well.

Fracmeister,
Is that the "corporate" color?? Are you happy with that blade style??

there is a Speedtech under my tree...it's just not for me! which is OK, because it's for my beloved, who totally deserves it. (oh, ok, it's not under the tree, and actually never even made it NEAR the tree--it's in his hand right now as i type this, being played with.)

and besides...watch for a thread coming soon on what Santa brought ME!! i'm pretty happy
