i'm in the market for a new tacticle folder.i was wondering for opinions on the synergy, commanderand the sebenza? i already own an afck, carnvior and microtech socom.

Personally, I think you've got the military tactical pretty much covered, so the Commander would be out. So you're left with the Sebenza and the SpeedTech.

First off, it sounds like ultimately, you're going to be buying both. You've displayed excellent income disposal skills up till now, and there's no reason to believe that you won't get better and better at feeding your habit once you've tasted the sweetness which is Sebenza or Synergy. So it's not a question of which, but rather which first.

They're both excellent knives. You will be well served and well pleased by either - and especially both.

Based on what you've got now, I'm going to guess that a tiny blade will leave you sort of flat, so if you go Sebenza, go large Sebenza. The Synergy blade is plenty meaty.

What it sounds like you need is some color - something with style. The Synergy has you covered there, being one of the sexiest, most colorful knives out there. Depending on your needs, you can go relatively subdued, or let it all hang with the California Camo. Phenomenally comfortable handle.

The Sebenza has color and flash available, but you'll pay quite dearly for it. If quiet style is your thing, though, the plain Sebenza is smooth and classy.

[I stand corrected] Both knives have pocket clips.

My purely personal preference is the Synergy, but either way, you're getting an exceptional knife - worth every penny. Try to handle the knives before you buy - the knives feel quite different, from each other and from what you've already got. I would bet that you'll really like one over the other once they're in your hand.

I think that the Synergy or the Sebenza will be an excellent addition to the selection you've got going.

You really will be buying both, though.

Brian,The Sebenza has a clip. It's probably the only thing on it thats not perfect but its there.
Maybe you're thinking of the old Sebenza-those were made with out the clip.

Synergy or Sebenza? You really know how to perplex a guy...

Sebenza first. Then you will end up getting a Synergy. Great knives, great companies.

Radman,

You will get both eventually, it's just a matter of which first.

Stick around the forums for the next week or so, and there will be plenty of Sebenza and Synergy threads to help you decide. Or better yet use the search feature, but be prepared to do a lot of reading.

You will end up with the SpeedTech Synergy ,the only question is what options.
I like the feel and the balance of the SpeedTech.

I am with what other people say: eventually you'll have both. I was having the same problem. The solution: the Sebbie should come

Love that quote, `Displayed excellent income disposal skills...' well said and it's so true of so very many of us!!!

PS
Large Sebenza and then the SpeedTech, got to handle a SpeedTech a short while ago and they are very comfortable to handle and while I don't overly care for sweeping blade styles, that one is flat ground nicely and very good at shear cutting. As they said above, good companies, good knives, can't go wrong.

Got both; Play with the Synergy, work with the Sebenza; I'd sell most of my other knives before I'd sell my Sebenza while I'd sell the Synergy before I'd sell most of my other knives.

I do agree with most of the folks here in that I expect you'll have both before the year's out.

Take care,

Mike

Can the Synergy be field stripped (taken apart) like the Sebenza? I have many Sebenzas and was thinking of getting a Synergy, however I will not buy a folder that cannot be taken apart, at least easily or designed for the user to disassemble.
Thanks.
Steve

The Synergy is not designed to be field stripped or user adjusted. The pivot mechanism is self adjusting.
