I'd take a look at a Kershaw blur; good steel, light handle, lots of variations. As others have recommended, go for a plain edge version.

I would say try the ESEE Izula or Candiru. Both can be had new for under $60.

what about a coldsteel bushman? tough, durable. $25-$30 plus $10 for some paracord cause the handle suck's. alittle time on youtube and then it's an awesome knife/spear lol

i don't think that's a problem with the knife, it sounds more like a problem with how you put it back together.

I had a bad experience with a delica 4. I took it apart and put it back together and it now closes with very light spine whacks.
