Spendy knives are all well and good, but my favorites are inexpensive!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I noticed this was the last post before the Covid thing really took off in the nation. So I was wondering two things, how have the people been using their inexpensive knives during the pandemic, and if anyone have used theirs as their primary knives during the same time period? Sort of like the use of one knife for 30 days kind of thing. Just curious.

I have been thinking of my Opinels again and finally breaking out my Svord Mini Peasant. I need to figure how to get a better edge in the Svord.

The Chinese virus hasn't changed my knife use at all; what I miss most are my weekly Japanese restaurant lunches - sashimi, tempura, et al. That stuff isn't quite as nice when I try it at home.

Maybe not a real answer, make some fish sticks or bake some fish, and cut them up, add some slaw and carrot slivers, etc and put them in a street taco tortillas, about 4 inches wide, and enjoy. Not raw, but still good. :p I had an inexpensive frozen pizza, a supreme, but had only a few slivers of pepperoni, onion and green peppers....nothing supreme about it.....so added some pepperoni, onions, some pepper, and more cheese....better, and we enjoyed it with a glass of wine.
I bet tilapia tacos would be awesome with an ice cold beer!!

Some great looking Teles there!!!
I also have a bunch of expensive guitars but somehow I always go back to this Silvertone made by Harmony.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken the pick guard off but I think it is a 65 or 64 with Deaarmond pickups.
Through my 68 drip edge VibroChamp this guitar sounds heavenly.

The guitars made by Harmony and Kay through the 20’s-60’s were the equivalent of the Moras, Opinel, and MAM knives of today.
They are tools that the masses can afford and usually with a little tlc they can be brought up to be something that can equal their expensive counterparts.
