SPF $65 all in via paypal.
Great deal can be made for youngin' as the smaller handle would be great for kid, I think. Anyone under 18 (preferably a parent getting for their kid or someone they know could use it). Prize drawing at the youth archery or gun safety.

Today I have for sale a Hess Pioneer with leather grip. I used it once or twice shaving some wood and making notches, trying out the big belly as a bushcraft knife. Not for me. The handle is right on the limit of being too small.

For those not familiar with Hess knives, the blades are made by GEC and the Hess family finish them off. Great value. This model has a nice, slicey belly with a fine tip. It would make a nice hunting and skinning knife.

1095 steel
4.25" blade
Just under 4" between guard and curves into pommel. I have size large hands.
0.12" spine thickness

What's the rule on this. I thought it was "I'l take it" was the commitment right here in public for all to see with a time stamp and the PM was discussion or follow-up without cluttering the thread. This happened to me and I keep seeing it happen to others to their amazement thinking they won. Also, sorry you lost, I sold it on another forum just a minute ago.

There is no rule about it, it's seller's discretion. Same if a seller chooses not to sell to someone for whatever reason, lack of feedback, post counts, join date, etc. Most sellers who run with the rule of first I'll take it" state as much. I don't because I prefer the first person to commit to the purchase, regardless of how they contact me.

Obviously, I'm biased in this specific transaction because it's mine. I would recommend bringing this up in the service and support section of the forum, where that question really belongs and will get more oversight. Feel free to link and reference this thread as an example of your case. I did flag your post so it will get the mods attention to either move it to that location or bring their attention to your concern as simply addressing the message to the mods may not get their attention.

Thanks for you comment. Point taken. Don't agree, but understand the position.

What I have experienced before, using the "I take it" rule, is someone stating they'll take it in the thread an then PM'ing me hours later. You can also add in the "prompt PM afterwards" and even "prompt payment" but I like simple and and that's too many disclosures of terms for something that is quite a simple process. If I wanted a more rigid and consistent sales system, I would use ebay or etsy, and I'm not even sure if etsy is that consistent with the amount and variation of wait times for product they allow. Pros and cons. Thank you for keeping the conversation respectful despite disagreement. I find that fairly rare these days, especially in online discussions outside of academia.
