I just purchased this from a member here last week. I’ve carved 1 thumb thick stick and sliced some receipt paper with it.
I’m selling because my uses for these kind of knives has changed. Great example of a classic strider fixed blade in a size that’s fairly useful and easy to carry. This particular knife has a flat grind that seems to be very capable of cutting (much better than the hollow / saber version Imho).
The Strider “mod 10” knives are roughly 85% the size of their bigger cousins for easier carry.
Original owner went the extra mile and had Eric at mashed cat make a PERFECT sheath for this blade (huge improvement over the stock cordura sheaths these came with).
***full disclosure: I carved a stick , there are FAINT streaks in the finish, there are a couple of kydex rubs in the finish and the grind is a typical strider edge , sharp at the choil and belly but gradually more obtuse toward the tip ( plenty sharp for not so gentle utility work and stabbing into steel drums if thats your thing)***
I believe the blade length from the scale to tip is closer to 6 1/4 than the listed specs mentioned (from the monkey edge page ).
