For folks who like to pack it in, a light weight and very serious knife. This. build brought back memories of my pack in elk hunts and backpack hikes where low weight was important without sacrificing function. This knife is very comfortable in the hand and will stand up to field dressing any large game animal plus perform tough camp chores. I forged this from 52100 high carbon steel, heat treating and tempering to Rc 60-61 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade.
Flat grind finished to 400 grit
Black canvas Micarta handle sculpted to fit comfortably in the hand
Tapered full tang to reduce weight and to balance well
Overall length: 8 3/4 inches
Blade: 4 1/8 inches
Depth of the blade at the choil is 1 1/4 inches and about 3/16 inch at the spine
Weight, knife only: 5.9 ounces
Weight, knife and scabbard: 8.8 ounces
Leather scabbard. I attached the belt loop flat against the scabbard to save bulk but with enough room for up to a 2 1/2 inch belt. The loop can also be used to tie the scabbard onto or inside a pack.
