Spike Hawk .

Chris, thanks for the kind words- your work is art.
I'm having fun , trying to learn and not to loose too many pieces in the process. Rough forged a couple out of 4140 bar this week - still have plenty of work to do before I would consider myself a "Maker" like yourself and others who post their work here.
Thanks for posting the pictures- browning looks great

Hi Visitor ,
I can see a couple of real gems in what you have shown there ,once cleaned up
Not too kind just true mate,
Nobody starts at the top altho some people forget where the did start .
There are some of the best hawk makers here but i bet there first work wasnt too good i know mine wasnt . we all learn normaly by messing up .
and some time still mess up .

Not everything goes to plan everytime, i bet some of the other have some good stories too
and thank you for your complements MUCH APPRECIATED .
Chris

Real Quick one of the old browning methods was to pee in a bottle of iron filings. the uric acid and Iron would make a a NICE browning agent. I've had good luck mixing white vinegar and steel wool though...

Hello Jason ,
There is so many recipes out there
i guess they would have tryed just about anything once .
Ive heard you can use iodine too but have never tryed it .
