Here's a spike tomahawk forged from a 24oz. U.S. made ball peen hammer. Differentially heat treated. Aged patina. Handle is curly maple.

O.A.L of head: 8 3/4 in.
Blade Width:2 7/16 in.
Spike Length from Center of eye: 4 1/4 in.
Handle length: 19 1/8 in.
Per the manufacture, The steel in the hammer heads I use: 1080

I know nothing about Hawks. Do people use them or more ceremonial ?

"Camping", like clearing out some brush, and "hunting", like splitting the joints apart i suppose ?
I'd hate to break the beautiful handle but maybe the maple is stronger than i would think. maybe flexes a bit in place of breaking.
I hope i don't start buying Hawks. Being a knife addict is serious enough.
