I watch the show just to see different weapons, some of which I've never seen before. It's funny but I took the Samurai vs Viking in a different way. The problem I saw wasn't the weapon but it was man on man. If they had army on army, I think the Vikings would crush the Japanese. Also, the Vikings greatest weapon were their boats IMO.
 
It is pretty entertaining, I only watched the Shaolin Monk vs Māori Warrior episode though. Some things, like comparing the ability of a jade knife (more like a club) being able to swing through concrete blocks compared to a steel bowie knife... at least half the weight, is a little lame.

It is pretty much exactly the same format as that discovery channel show where they would find out which animals would win in a fight then have a computer animation of their special moves and who wins.
 
It's not supposed to be a "smart" show, it's for entertainment purposes, and I think it entertains pretty well.
