Dex has been driving me crazy, so I guess I'll spill a few beans tonite....introducing the new BK&T CREWMAN[BK10].

BK-10 Crewman Utility Knife
Practical yet Portable. Survival knife expert Ethan Becker designed the aptly named “Crewman” for servicemen who need a smaller version of the Combat Utility-7, but are unwilling to sacrifice performance. Crafted from the same tough 0170-6C and utilizing the trademark Becker ergonomic handle, the 5.5” blade Crewman is the perfect fit for pilots, tankers, and other professionals working in cramped corners. It is a big knife in a small package with a stout .188” thick clip point blade and a built-in hammerhead tang for prying and striking. An OD kydex-lined propex nylon sheath is standard equipment.

Oh yeah, its suggested retail price is....

$65.95!

We will be officially inroducing it at SHOTSHOW next week.....look for the knife to start shipping in 30-60 days. I'll have a closer ship date after we get back from SHOT.

BTW, its a nice Terrill Hoffman pic!

Sweet!! Persistence pays off finally :D A stubby BK7! Cool indeed...

Hey Will, you told me to keep my mouth shut and then you let Dex talk you out of the news! If Dexter can get that out of you, I wonder what a good looking blond can get from you.
Boys, you'll like this one! Short and handy!

Terrill,
Dontcha mean, what would a good looking blonde WANT from him??;) :p ;)

Yeah, I'll take one of these. Maybe even a second.

Ya know, there are times when there's just no room to spare or the load has reached it's limit--but you still want a strong, reliable cutting tool to be prepared for the unexpected. I think this particular knife makes a lot of sense in these types of situations. Looks like it would make a heck of an overall field knife too for those of us who like this blade size.

Light, compact and built for outright toughness. I've always liked Ethan Becker's designs and this is another one of those knives that the more I look at it, the more it grows on me. Me likes and a nod to Camillus for affordability. SK

A small BK-7, or...It kind of looks like the BK-2 Campanion got a new blade profile. I like it! (But I also still like my Campanion.).

Great looking knife. I love my BK-7, and want a Companion, and BK-9. Now yall gotta release a BK-10!

Could we get a side-by-side photo of the Campanion and the Crewman please?

Looks like a winner. My first impression is that it looks like half a BK-9. Looks like the same tip, only shorter. Me like.

YEEHAWW!!!

As luck would have it...due to the recent demise of my Spyderco Perrin I happen to have found myself in the market for a new five inch backpackin' knock 'round kinda knife. Had just been thinkin' I wished y'all would make a BK&T in that approximate size range...'lo an' behold here it be!!

Yup! me wants one!

This came to me last night after I posted, but was too tired to go back and reply....

The BK-10... aka "mini-me" to the BK-9!;) :D

Yeah, I'm curious as to the sheath too... I think it will probably be like the 7's and 9's.

Well, since the sheath is in the pic with the knife, and Will's post said "An OD kydex-lined propex nylon sheath is standard equipment" it shouldn't be too hard to figure out:rolleyes:
edit: sorry, that was supposed to be a :p...was trying to be a smart aleck, not a dick.
Looks great. At the price Becker's go for, it shouldn't be hard to make up an excuse for buying one! This would really rock with Bill Siegle's G-10 handles and a kydex sheath.

Runs with scissors- what happened to your perrin bowie?

I'd be hesitant to mention it in the General Forums, cuz I don't want to make a circus out of it, but I dropped it from a ladder and the blade snapped about an inch up from the handle. There wasn't much crystallization, but there was a strange dark spot near the top of the blade. Needless to say...how Spyderco chooses to handle it is going to have a major impact on my future collecting.

Somehow I get the feeling that would NOT happen with the BK#10 though....'specially after my experience with a BK#5 that I have a thread on in the General Forums right now. I can already tell, me an' my BK #10 are gonna become quite well aquainted.:D :D

Now that looks like a really good knife. Kind of like a lighter weight Campanion. A real winner. I want one to go with my Campanion.
