Anybody have some spine and handle contour photo's of bowies. We see tons of profile shots that do not tell us about the distal taper, blade thickness at the ricasso and tip, guard thickness and handle contour. I am making my first bowie and am looking for both some idea's and inspiration.
The more pics the better...

Thanks
John

Just did this on another site, so this is easy!

Great idea--just starting out I find it hard to picture the knife w/o all the stats listed. BTW, was up your way this weekend--did the Tread Lightly trainers course at Friend and Friend motors (Channel 5 ran a story on it today). Had suppah at Hollywood slots--yum!

Carl, that is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much.

Mr Bad Example, I too had supper at Hollywood slots on saturday, chicken fried steak was good.

I agree--I had a piece of that too--tasty! As my grandfather used to say, if you leave there hungry, it's your own damned fault. :)

Back to Bowies, I really like this one, that was recently posted in the gallery:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=719406

9.5" blade, .25" stock, 1.5" wide.

Now, w/o knowing the specs, I think it is hard to visualize, especially in photo sets with no "in hand" pictures or other form of "scale".

Having in my possession a few feet of 1.5"x.25" 1084, I plan to make something similar, though perhaps a little more "Bagwellian" (I really like his Hell's Belles) with a 12" blade and the Devil Horn's guard/quillions.
