Spine whacked!

Thanks for the answer; I knew I could depend on someone.

I understand that there may be a model called Paramilitary in the future somewhere that supposedly has all the possible clip positions basically covered.

Do you find this to be just rumor-mill, or might it actually happen?

The ParaMilitary is not a rumor. Now its just a matter of waiting. It should have everything you're looking for; G-10, C-lock, double liners.

P.S. I decided to "whack' all my Spydercos last night, even the ones that will never be used. They all passed. Trivia: When your PE Delica and your left palm meet at the tip of the Delica...Your palm loses! I was actually amazed at the ease with which the Delica penetrated my palm without causing pain, at first, then OUCH! If you must do this be careful, and don't get in a hurry as I did.

Is there some credence to the thought (my own) that a Stainless Endura should be stronger than a frn Endura? I seem to think that the construction of a stainless model would obviate any slight lateral twist or bend that might invite a "spine-wack" failure. Wonder what your thoughts are.

My friend has a sandblasting machine in this shop; I would take the stainless Endura into it and blast the surface of the scales (after maybe taping-off a nice pattern or border, first. That baby would be "stylin'" )

Thank you.

At the risk of not answering the question to your satisfaction, I will say I have found SS handled Spydercos to be much stronger in performance than the FRN versions. I don't know about any difference in lock strength, but during some slightly heavy cutting chores I have found sometimes my FRN model feels uncomfortably strained at the pivot area. I have used a SS model for the same thing and felt no strain whatsoever. However, I have not had any FRN model break or fail; but the SS handled knife did the job with more ease and it felt safer to me.

Can't say. In my case the SS versions are for "lookin," and the FRNs are for "workin."

I LOVED the stainless model, but went for frn only for the ambi clip position options.

Although, after all, I am finding that I am leaving the clip where it is on the frn model and putting it in lefty pocket for lefty draw with ring finger opening. So, the windup is, is that it did not matter regarding moving the clip in this case.

In the event of double Endura carry, I would put a stainless in left pocket, then an frn in the right pocket, or so on and so forth. ......

Well, my Endura Trainer is back from Spyderco, along with a nicely written letter and it is working fine. Wacked it and it's as solid as expected.

Thanks, Spyderco!
