I am making a small folder with the blade and spinebar made of ATS 34. I would like to plate quench and was wondering if they can both be done together. I would appreciate details such as how to wrap in foil(together or separately), how to place them in the oven ( can they lay flat or should they be standing on edge), soaking times at what temp, tempering times and temps, etc.? Thanks for any info provided.

Im no expert but i figure that it would be best to wrap them separately so that there is little air space.

Do them together but put them side by side in the foil and try to remove as much air as possible. Do search fo HT. You can use 154CM data from www.crucibleservice.com if you can't find ATS-34 data.

Thanks for the info. I'm waiting on my quench plates and as soon as I get them I'll give it a shot.
