I hear different stories about spring knives in
Fl. I have a concealed weapons permit and I carry them anyway. The statue does't say anything about them. The only spring knives that the statue says is illegal are the balistic knives.

Any info would be great.

I'm not a lawyer but as far as I know any "self propelled knife" is prohibited due to a flea market shop selling switches to minors and then they fled the country when they got out on bail. The old law applied to any of the infamous KGB ballasitc knives, where a button or switch could project a blade from the handle. But under that court ruling any knife capbable of projection is prohibited, that means ANY knife is illegal in Flordia. A kitchen knife is illegal if you can throw it! There is no particular terms in Flordia knife law, and since it is probably the most right to carry state in the U.S. I'm only going to assume that the Deputy isn't going to care.

More info can be found here

790.225 Self-propelled knives; unlawful to manufacture, sell, or possess; forfeiture; penalty.--

(1) It is unlawful for any person to manufacture, display, sell, own, possess, or use a self-propelled knife which is a device that propels a knifelike blade as a projectile by means of a coil spring, elastic material, or compressed gas. A self-propelled knife is declared to be a dangerous or deadly weapon and a contraband item. It shall be subject to seizure and shall be disposed of as provided in s. 790.08(1) and (6).

(2) This section shall not apply to any device which propels an arrow, a bolt, or a dart by means of any common bow, compound bow, crossbow, or underwater spear gun.

(3) Any person violating the provisions of subsection (1) is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

The main problem is determing what a "Self-propelled knife" is it probably matters on the officer at the seen. All I know is automatics and switchblades are openly sold in Flordia so I assume there legal
