Spirit: how do you close the #*&$* pliers?

I must be an idiot. I can't get these pliers closed. "Simply reverse opening" says the instructions.

Please help!

I called the vendor and they said you just have to force the handles and indeed with force it closes. FYI.

There must be something wrong with your model. Mine opens and closes harder than the LM Charge I had (it also clicks into position when it is opened fully) but it doens't take that much force to close mine.
