Spitfire or vantage

Which knife fits your hand better?
That's the thing,no one around here stocks them and I can't get to Sevierville to smkw to handle them. I want to get both eventually, but right now will only be able to get one. I'm thinking the vantage might it's a tad thicker

Depends which vantage size wise. The select is a thin guy where as the avid or pro are thicker and heavier.

The select is the one I'm looking at. The 420hc buck produces is a great steel. I don't think I need an upgrade. From use I believe it is on par with steels that arenconsidered as much better

Another vote for the Vantage. I have the large Pro and love it. But I formerly had a Select model and love it as well.

The select is one of the thinnest blades I own and it can disappear in the pocket easily.

I prefer the Vantage. I like the size and weight of the select the best  420hc is fine but S30V is much better :D

I am looking at both of these . Eventually I am sure i will have both. But for now if like some opinions on which one to pick. I'll use it to open boxes packages that sort of task. And maybe occasionally to clean a trout or 2
100% Spitfire all day every day. Now that they have fixed the blade play issue, it really isn't a choice in my book. Slimmer, sleeker, easy deployment and close (one handed). Oh, and the clip incidentally acts as a bottle opener. Can't beat that!

Coming from the guy selling the nicest looking Vantage around, that's saying something. :)

You can even custom make your own Spitfire on the Buck website now so that’s an advantage over the Vantage.

I will let everyone know. Gonna test it out when it arrives. I have several boxes that I gotta get cut up and taken off. I'm gonna use it to whittle some and see how the edge holds up. All the bucks I've ever had held an edge extremely well. I think alot of people sell bucks steel short.

I received the spitfire today. I love the feel of it. It is balanced well and is light . And as always it has a hair shaving edge. I've cut with it a bit and seems to be a very good slicer. I like the way it carries in my pocket. I think my favorite thing is the pocketclip. I love the design of it and the knife both. For the 25 bucks I paid for it, it is a steal, could get well be much more expensive and still a great value. And the vantage will be coming pretty soon, first time I have the extra bucks

so no lock rock issues then on it? its one of the new ones? thanks.

I'd also like to point out that the Spitfire is now available from the Buck Custom Shop. I did a little messing around in there and came up with several versions that I may have to invest in.
