splinter-picker tip?

what is a splinter picker tip? i read about someone putting one on their knife, and i think it was in this forum but i'm not sure. it sure sounds traditional.

splinter picker tip? maybe just filing the tip of the knife to be very sharp and pointy? i don't really know.

i just use whatever pointy thing i have on me, usually a knife tip.

It's basically slang for a pointy tip on a knife, like a clip point. A Sodbuster, for example, has no splinter picker tip. Sheepsfoot, spey blades..... no splinter pickers.

A.G. Russell sells a little custom fixed blade called the Splinter Picker. Almost has a needle point on the blade. Bill
