Split Backspring Whittlers

Elliott, you mean i've been hanging out in the BRL forum too much ?

I mean to say that you've made the same single point multiple times now and I no longer appreciate you sidetracking the thread by belaboring it.
We've indulged your need to expound upon the topic even though the point was made. Now I am asking that you allow us to move on. I hope that is plain enough.

Thanks for more folder posts, Elliott.

Ken Erickson's split backspring whittlers are off the wall! Love the backspring design on these knives. So much better than the early design.

Elliott,

Those are absolutely wonderful, but I am drawn to the Ivory Erickson. Immediately after I post this response, my next email goes to Ken
to get a Whittler for myself. I think I am truly mentally disturbed, I can't seem to stop myself, does anyone know a medication I can take
to cure me of this habit or will I be forced to add to my collection until my funds run out?

Jeff

Jeff, if there's a cure I don't know of it. I've gone into remission a few times only to be reinfected. The affliction continues...

Thanks for more folder posts, Elliott.

Thanks, Joe. His work on this particular pattern (and the lockback whittler) is very clean in appearance and exemplary in action.

One has to admire all of the makers who tackle the complexities of building these various whittler patterns.

Elliot,
Thank you for sharing your knives. i find these a breath of fresh air around here, seeing these great examples and the others you are sharing, as well. I am a fan. Please stick around and give us updates. I, or maybe "we", thought no moderators were into custom knives. Happy to know you are, and knee-deep it appears. :)
Welcome!
David

Thanks, David, it's appreciated. Oh, I think that there are a few who are into custom knives. And one I know for sure, Gus (Bastid) used to co-moderate this forum with me before we passed the torch to the current moderators. It's a little more relaxing (speaking for myself) just trying to contribute here where I can. I'll try to post up more examples that may be of interest as we go forward. If there are specific requests for a pattern, feel free to email or PM me and I'll do what I can where possible.

if I were to get a custom slipjoint made, it would be identical in form to this, my favourite knife;

Lorien,

Here is one that I did a while back that closely follows the line of your IXL but with the added feature of a locking master.
