I have a Queen Whittler with D2 steel incoming and from what I have read might be what you are looking for.So what are the good reasonably priced options for split back whittlers for carving (or other traditional style knives). I have some a gec #38 English whittler and #62 carver, but would like something that I don't mind sharpening often, but still has a nice high hardness.
I have been using vintage stockmen, but they need more sharpening than I like.
I find a stropping is all that is needed once a good edge is developed. I use my 62s and 38s. Why not enjoy them.So what are the good reasonably priced options for split back whittlers for carving (or other traditional style knives).
