  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Splitback Whittlers at their Best!

1973 Case 6383

So what are the good reasonably priced options for split back whittlers for carving (or other traditional style knives). I have some a gec #38 English whittler and #62 carver, but would like something that I don't mind sharpening often, but still has a nice high hardness.

I have been using vintage stockmen, but they need more sharpening than I like.

I have a Queen Whittler with D2 steel incoming and from what I have read might be what you are looking for.

I find a stropping is all that is needed once a good edge is developed. I use my 62s and 38s. Why not enjoy them.

The queen looks interesting, but I don't see it available anywhere, and it is almost at the price point that it isn't worth it.
