I got a Buck 110 about a month ago and decided that I would actually take care of it. So I sharpened it with a Sharpmaker, washed the blade with a mild dishwashing detergent and then gave it a fine coating of Rem oil (wiping off the excess with a Kleenex). Now the blade has a splotchy appearance with the splotches being lighter than the rest of the blade. I went through the same process two more times but it only makes it worse. What am I doing wrong?
