Spoiler Alert / Preview of coming attractions

Namaste, guys,

I wonder if I should ask Yangdu, our Lady of the Khukuris about one of the smaller knifes (not the Seax) even before she got them back from, you Bawanna.?

I'd love to own a knife which I could carry concealed. The Sarge sure is a beauty, may I ask about how long it is? The antler handle is world class.

What does KK mean? Beautiful Maple Wood Handle. You are doing outstanding jobs, Bawanna. How long is that one? Would it come with a sheat?

I ask because I consider buying a real large Khukuri for a friend. Mail to Austria costs a lot (almost 50 USD), and why not putting the large and the small one into one packet. That way I could save some money.

A last question: Which knife would you as experienced Khukuri-owners recommend for concealed carry self-defense? The Sarge or the KK? Or perhaps another one? I think it shoudn't be longer than around eight to ten inches, am I right?

Would be happy to get a reply,

Thank you. :)
I'd pick the Sarge/KPH because it has a guard for self defense. Also a fantastic general purpose knife. I love love love it.

Honestly if you can get a YVSA Cherokee Special (YCS) Karda, it is a perfect concealed carry knife. I don't know what it is about mine but it is just fantastic. The recurve cuts/slices just insane/crazy. Doesn't have a good stabbing profile much. It's just a great general purpose knife. For your stated purpose, go with the Sarge.

I love the knives this size. I have a Sarge (special tanto-ish blade), mini spear vala, ycs karda, and a IBBB. oh and a Rusty SD.

If it's legal, a mini spear vala is basically only good for doing damage ;) Just holding it makes me feel like a secret agent or something..the double edge makes me think I'm going to cut myself stupidly, ha ha.

Thank you, this was really helpful.

Requested a karambit in the eight inches range (together with a special Ang Khola - but this is a different thread)

Namaste,

Soshin :-)

LOL, we cross-posted, stwm! :-D

Now I have to ask Aama Yangdu for a Sarge as well.

Perhaps Bawanna's? Hopefully it isn't gone yet.

I hope I made it clear I want the full set including the stand. :)

Still waiting for the DD for the Karambit, the Topi and the Scarf, though...

Quick question for the folks who have the kerambit. From the picture posted on the recent DOTD the handle looked like it might be pretty cramped for the middle to pinkie fingers(to be fair I only was able to look at it on a cell phone screen). Has that been anyone's experience or is the fit pretty good?

There's plenty of room for me, I think it would be a good fit for most. I don't put my finger through the hole, seems like a good way to loose a finger but it works well doing that with either the pointer finger or the pinkie.
I like it because it's useful for most task a regular knife would be used for. Great design.

Hehe, yes.

I had a streak of luck. She recieved the sarge exactly the same time my mail came in. I will keep it in highest honor. Perhaps me being an "old customer" with my first HI Khukuri bought ten years ago helped´a little bit. I even was a forumite back then, but I forgot my old nick, that's why I had to re-register...

In Austria we do have antler horns on a lot of things related to hunting, so I will not stand out.

And the sarge will go to Nepal with me next spring, and that way the full circle (Nepal-Reno-Schruns-Nepal) will be completed. I bet there are few Khukuris having traveled around the world. :p

I have average sized hands (3.5" across the palm at the knuckles) and the HI karambit fits my hands just fine. I have one karambit now but I've had three different ones at various times, and they all fit my hand.

I can hold it comfortably choked up with my entire hand in front of the ring (front finger at the smooth cho), or with my pinky finger through the ring, or in reverse grip with thumb resting on the ring.

I just got this today and saw the post, took 2 photos to show. It’s larger than I thought and I see why everyone is in love with it! I have average size hands as well.4E5A0F61-5825-4E29-841B-6536904C229D.jpeg 05D4CF57-A228-4391-9FC9-649543657300.jpeg

Lovely, thanks for the pics George. I'll keep resisting but eventually have to get a HI Kerambit.
