By all accounts, an extremely hard working and dedicated young woman who thinks nothing of going well above and beyond the call of duty to help every customer. Not to mention, from what I understand, one of the sweetest people you'd ever want to meet.

Unfortunately, as "point person" for Busse and, apparently, de-facto head of customer relations, she's in the perfect position to be slammed by irate, irrational folk who often want more than is reasonable or even possible. There is little that you can do in that situation other than apologize and hand the problem off to a superior if available or get the customer's info and complaints/demands. Get a decision from higher up (or pretend that you do if it is your decision) and if Jerry, "Jerry" or even the janitor say that that/those loudmouths should "Go and get stuffed.", dutifully relay that info.
AMY: I'm sorry that you were verbally abused to the point of tears but, unfortunately, that is a part of the world that we live in. Fortunately, that kind of person is not that common. Hopefully, the rest of are not big enough jackasses or whiners to cause you much grief. You are uniformly lauded on these pages and I suspect that you derive a good deal of satisfaction from doing your difficult job so well. Please continue to do so. I do not know what the actual Latin phrase is but try to remember the fake one : "Illegitemus non carborundum", which is supposed to translate as "Don't let the bastards wear you down." Take care. People should know she is busy and give her some space, hard to believe someone was that rude to her. I havn't got an email about the ganza, and if I don't in a week I'll just assume I didn't score...no regrets, they'll make more.

Better yet I've got a Kershaw folder floating around somewhere that I found out in the yard. It looks like it got run over by a lawn mower and is beat to s#!&.

You don't need to defend yourself here... But I strongly suggest that you SUCK IT UP and APOLOGIZE to her. SHE has done SO MUCH for US, the CUSTOMERS since she started working for BUSSE COMBAT... "TWO WEEKS" has become "TWO DAYS" as far as Ganzaa notifications are concerned... She is ALWAYS NICE to all of US on the phone REGARDLESS of how busy or crappy her day is. I believe that I can safely & surely say that she treats US ALL with utmost respect... She always follows through with whatever she says to us on the phone or by email, and she BLEEDS BUSSE COMBAT & is OUTSTANDING as Busse's CUSTOMER SERVICE representative. SHE GENUINELY CARES about BOTH the CUSTOMERS & the COMPANY, just in case you few don't or can't understand THIS... She works hard for Jerry, but she also works very hard for our satisfaction as customers too, don't you GET THAT????

Good grief, I can't believe anyone would have anything bad to say to Amy-O or anyone else at Busse. I talked to Amy yesterday, and even though she was busy, she made me feel a welcome new member of the family, and shared my delight at getting my 'ganza pick even if it isn't the biggest or most expensive knife for sale. All I can say is that I agree with you guys 100%. This is no way to treat anyone, and certainly no way to treat someone as special as my new friend!

A girl needs a knife...
 
I can't believe this either. I suggest that Busse permanently bans any moron from further Ganzaaas if they are going to treat the staff like that. Like someone else said, Jerry doesn't have to do the ganzaaa stuff at all. If the problem with the emails not going through was the root of the anger, deal with it jack-ass. It's not like you were ordering a new heart or something. We all love our Busse family blades, but to thrash an employee is inexcuseable. We love you A-O. Coors and Clarks will cheer you up.

I just can't imagine anyone being even short with our Busse family members, well except Garth, but I'm sure he deserves it).

The way everybody, from the Big Guy to the lowliest piglet, treat each other has always impressed me to no end. Been involved with all kinds of organizations, clubs, and association, but NEVER had the feeling of being a part of this kind of family.

Amy you're getting a great big hug from Bar-B-Q and me!!!
