Sponge sanders?

Every time I look through the grizzly catalog these things catch my eye. I cant help but think they would be nice for handles and maybe even convex grind finish work. Seems like with the right abrasives it could be a softer version of slack belting. No matter what, I dont think I 'll buy one but was wondering if anyone had used one? Curiousity has set in.

Yup, use them all the time on the handles. they work great for getting into the grooves and such. I've never used them past 220 / 240 and never used them for the actual blade.
