Alrighty boys and girls! We're gonna be gearing up for a couple of small giveaways here, to celebrate me being amongst such fine individuals as are found at the BF WSS!
There are going to be three total giveaways, each will have their own rules. I'm going to explain each below, it's your job to figure out which one you belong in. I'm going to keep these giveaways open until I reach (around) 2000 posts. Since I've got a few days off work, that might be sooner rather than later! I will choose the winner of each in a random manner of my choosing.
To enter any giveaway, just put something like "Please add me to Giveaway #X" at the top of your post in bold. I don't want to have to work to sift through too much to find if you want in.
I love pretty outdoors/blade/gear pictures, so it'd be neat if you also posted your single most favorite blade or outdoors pic!
Giveaway #1
The first giveaway is for wilderness newbies. It's a very basic kit of goodies that I feel make up a good base for a bushcraft kit. It does lack important items, mainly shelter and water.
Contents:
-first aid kit (3"x3" sterile pads, bandaids, gauze, adhesive tape, benadryl, ibuprofen, iodine solution, hand sanitizer)
-Bic wrapped in flaggers tape
-fatwood
-wax-coated matches
-blue tinder box (filled with tea packets)
-candle
-jute twine
-duct tape
-poncho
-SWAK (a Mora)
The rules for this one:
- You must be a neophyte to wilderness skills and travel
- You must not have a decent base kit of your own, including blade (don't enter if you just blew you credit card at Sportsman's Warehouse)
- You must upgrade your membership to 'Basic' or better, or have already done so. I'm flexible on this one.
I realize there are a lot of stipulations with this one, but I spent some time putting together some important pieces and don't want them to just sit in a closet. I want them to go to someone who needs them and will use them. I want this to give a leg-up to someone trying to get more involved in the outdoors who doesn't know where to start.
I want pics of this stuff in use sometime after you get it! (Though hopefully not use of the first aid kit
)

This is for the regulars! If you consider yourself to be a regular contributor of the WSS forum, this one is for you. I'd prefer the folks in this one have at least a couple hundred posts in this forum. I'll not check each contestant for this, but if the winner has like 25 posts, we'll be selecting a new winner.
This is just a 'pass on' of a user I was lucky enough to win here, it's a Schrade Pro-Hunter 2. Included is a very basic back-pocket sheath I made. It looks rough around the edges (literally) but was meant to be. It securely holds the blade in the back pocket, and does so comfortably. Works great if you're just going on a quick woods walk and want something easy to slip in your pocket. The blade is gently used, just a few fuzz sticks and some leather work.

Anyone who entered in either of the above two can also enter in this one. I was also gifted this little home-made blade by another user at BF. It was sort of a project blade that got put in a back drawer. It's from a file, with a scandi-ish grind. I had a sheath but it got moved elsewhere, so no sheath. It would make a neat little project knife (still needs sharpening) or a good user for someone who doesn't have one.
