Recently while searching for inspiration I noticed a "Sporting Bowie" on Mr Fisk's
website. I really like the idea of a single guard Bowie knife for sport and camp use
so I did one of my own from Aldo's 1075. It's 14 1/4" long with a 9 1/4" blade.
My first attempt at a clamshell guard and some nice stag handles from Culpepper.
It's soon getting leather from Kenny Rowe. Your comments are welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Really nice work David! I like the blade shape and the piece has nice lines. The single clamshell guard is an elegant touch.

Thats a "stand out" bowie David. Some fresh ideas with the handle lines and single clam shell guard. Well done.

Thanks gentlemen. I really appreciate the positive feedback. This is my first really big knife so it posed
some new obstacles - but I really enjoyed making it.
Bruce, I'm from Dallas so having you compliment my efforts is like hearing "good pass" from Roger Staubach.

Thanks all for looking and commenting,
David

I admire a lot of bowies I see on these forums and in the Knives books but THAT's exactly the kind of Bowie that I'd buy. Classic blade shape (to my eye), perfect guard choice (I've prefered single guards since I bought a Randall Little Bear), and the stag handle is different than most I've seen and still looks comfortable. I really like that knife.

Great job.
