Spousal Strategy For INFI Acquisition

Spouse stradegy is something I am quite good at.

How I do it is a tried and true method taught to me by the best of the best. (my father :D)

Pick out the most outrageously expensive knife, mower, car, toy, whatever it is that you want. Get excited about it! Bring it up, justify the cost, rationalize it make her think you are really thinking of going for this one.

She'll get a bit worked up inside but if she is like my wife she won't show it. Then as she is browsing with you casually pull up the much less expensive one you really wanted in the first place and let her get a look at that as if you are just browsing. If you play your cards right she'll say something like, "what about that one?" or "Whats wrong with that one?" and at this point you have it! Order your knife.

When I wanted a new riding lawn mower I took her to the Honda dealer. I didn't just want another 1500 buck mower that would be trouble starting, last a few years and need replaced. I wanted a life time mower. We went together. I zeroed in on the 4x4 model for $10K. Did all the above and got excited, asked for loan info, payment info, options, all the signs that I was serious. By the time we walked by the $4000 two wheel drive version that I really wanted she thought it was a great relief over spending 10K plus.

If I had gone in and tried to talk her into the 4K model to begin with I'd still be on a Murray from walmart. I got the 4K model I wanted and she thanked me for buying that one! I'm bad I know. Hey, sue me! A mans got to do what a mans got to do!:D

Work's every time! :D

From above...

"I just tell my wife that these knives being sent to me are for someone else and that he ships them to me so he won't get in trouble with his wife(you know who you are)."

I was running this on my wife with an over/under shotgun that I bought for myself as a "passed my qualifying exam" present. 'Well honey, it actully belongs to x, but you know him, he doesn't have any more room in his gun safe, and we have plenty. I told him that he could keep it in our safe for now so he didn't have to buy another safe." Buy the time I came clean, she loved the gun so much that she was only pissed that I didn't get her one too. I have since gone to the above mentioned "see no evil, speak no evil" strategy, which saves on stress and indigestion.

Dad used to come in from work now and then and he'd very sly like pull out a new pistol to show us boys and give us the ole index over the lips and shuuuuu don't tell mom at a barely audible tone. Then he'd casually tuck it back out of sight.

We'd sit around, have dinner, maybe turn on the tube and dad would suggest we clean the guns so as usual he would go into the safe room, clear them making sure they were all safe and then call us to start carrying them out to the living room to have a cleaning party. Oh dad's cleaning parties were famous in our home.

Cleaning parties were fun to us kids but to dad it was one of the necessary steps in his own little well polished technique to introduce a new gun he just bought to the watchful eye of our mother.

She would sit on the couch pretending not to notice much of course but not missing a thing and dad was smart enough to be sure to clean mom's shotgun as well as the others that were his and us boys and when the new one came out to be cleaned we'd often hear something like, "I don't remember that one" from our mother's lips. Then dad would say, oh yeah I've had that one for a little while now. I just picked it back up tonight from Paul since he had it for a bit (his brother who he had been by to visit before coming home so he could say he gave it to him only to take it back a little bit later you see.) Oh yes my father was taught well in the fine art of telling half truths. I am not sure he really got away with much looking back because my mom was no dummy but it was this game played between my parents quite often regarding my father's passion for firearms. Anyway, thats how he did it.

I think in his own mind it was fair play considering how my mom used sex and lack of sex to get what she wanted from him. Oh its a wicked business this married life. I've learned the hard way too. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5112906&postcount=1

Actually, I believe he said Sherman tank not Sherbert tank, so Big green hunk of steel, not orange and infi hunk of steel.

Man, I wish that would work for me. I just tell my wife that these knives being sent to me are for someone else and that he ships them to me so he won't get in trouble with his wife(you know who you are).;)

Hopefully we will be able to keep this scam going a little longer!:D

Are you guy's serious? That's to funny:D Chucker, your gonna have some serious explaining to do one day

My advise on this,
A- I use a laptop in my chair thats in a corner of living room...no one will ever see the screen

B- Buy as many Guns and knives as you can when your young and don't ever stop buying several, and selling a few. I had so many when I married that my wife has no idea whats going on, or how many I have. Heck I'm not even sure how many knives I have, so she has no idea.

Excellent strategy!!! I would only add one thing:

C- Never give her the combo to your safe and she will never know how much you have. :D

I'm going to have to start thinking about these INFI acquisition strategies. Just got engaged!

I like that Tank  ....I just get to the mail before she does..But some times a mans got to do what a mans got to do.. to stay out of the dog house.;).....or in this case the HOG house.

One more that I've used is. she knows you have a knife coming but you really have four knives coming and there all coming on diff days so you get the mail before her. so you gotton the first two but you don't get number three because she was home and got it before you.. you just say thanks I've been waiting for this then you make sure you get number four before her..

AND ALWAYS USE A SECRET PAYPAL ACCT. SHE DON'T KNOW ABOUT.

I'm going to H-LL Aren't I :(:(

I have a few SAKs that my wife doesn't know about and I know that she is fond of SAKs. When my BATAC arrived my wife got the package but I opened it later when she wasn't around. When she asked what I had bought I showed her a SAK trekker and she was happy, I even headed off any further inquiry by saying I can't believe how much packing material was used to ship this little knife.

No way is this gonna work with the soon to arrive FFBM. My latest plan is to tell her that it is from a passaround and that I only have it for a couple of weeks. Though not a long term solution it should mitigate the initial shock.

I'm going to hell too I spose.

Yeah the scary part is we have been doing this a long time. Choice B though has pretty much been my plan from the beginning and it has worked. She has no idea what I have actually accumulated over the years, but every now and then you need some friendly help to keep the guns and INFI flowing.

Well, I guess I could always black mail you if I ever needed something since I truly know what you have :D..probably not a good idea since you could do the same to me...

This all sounds great guys, but once the wife (me) starts buying INFI... Nothing else matters.

Using secret PayPal won't work, since I use it too and pay the bill online... Just hoping to get it down before BLADE.
Must have BLADE INFI funds available!
