Spray Adhesive?

Nope, not the best. Stay away from gasoline and kerosene. They weren't designed to do the job. 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, 08987 in a spray can. You can find it at O'Reilly's or just about any auto parts store. The citrus stuff is designed to kinda work, this stuff is designed to ALWAYS work. I've never had it damage any plastic, and is designed with spray adhesive in mind. It also does a great job of removing wax as well.

I just spray my surface plate with windex and lay the paper down.The capillary action of the liquid works just fine and no adhesive.
