 The April showers let up a bit today and allowed me and Ranger (the INFI dog) to have a walk, and whack some Cedar. Life just doesn't get much better than that, fellas.

The NMFBM is a
BEAST... the blade length gives it incredible chopping power. I whacked this Cedar which was growing underneath a beautiful Live Oak (found guilty of stealing water, under penalty of death). It happens to be perfect size for a baton for further testing.

Ranger has his own pack. A dog needs to earn his keep and haul his own around here.

Although, he doesn't mind me adding some additional weight from time to time. I don't let him carry it often... one biatch in heat and I lose em both. Can't blame him though, I was the same way in my youth.

To put the NMFBM into perspective, this is a 4" blade 'HACK'next to the NMFBM sheath.

I believe Jerry should consider releasing the 4" HACK or similar to everyone... it is a perfect hunting knife!

The new Woodland digi-camo seemed to be a great fit for the hack.. so I whipped one up, and included a fire steel with stag handle. Fire and INFI should get me through just about anything...

and a nice steak.

Why are you asking me what it's called  ... I've been drinkin' beer all day (burp). :pKnifekits.com calls it "Forest Digital Camo". Cool stuff.

Hmmmmmm......cause it's yours? I was just curious. It matches my old utilities.

I like your Gonzalez battle flag, BTW.

^^^^ yeah.. it is MARPAT. But they don't call it that, maybe a trademark or something.

Cool Dog, Cool knife, Cool sheath, Cool scenery..and best of all...MMMMMMMM BEER

Thanks for sharing, makes me want to go for a hike tomorrow

Your dog looks very well trained. I need to work on mine... Let's just say my dog is not the sharpest knife in the drawer...

LOL!!!

Love the dog shots with the knife.

Last time I tried to give my dog a blade he promptly took the whole neighborhood hostage.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Awesome pics and that sheath for your NMFBM is pretty cool. Nice looking dog too, so he carrys his own brew. :D You can't beat that and a Busse too.

I'm a bit leery of Wikipedia but here goes:

"The United States Marine Corps has patented MARPAT", (MARine PATtern), "including specifics of its manufacture. By regulation, the pattern and items incorporating it, ...., are to be supplied by authorized manufacturers only and are not for general commercial sale, although imitations are available, such as 'Digital Woodland Camo' or 'Digital Desert Camo'."

Nice pics, handsome dog. Looks like a great time.

Awesome set up !

THe Hack you have is one of my favorites as well:thumbup:

OK... so it is NOT Marpat... the Marpat has the eagle, globe and anchor incorporated into the camo pattern. Got it.

Ranger doesn't quite understand (yet) that he is in training to be my full-time beer sherpa. Good thing is that he will work for beer. ;)

Those are great photos of you and your dog. A companion of INFI-nut jest. Ugh, too corney. I've got one of those Hacts too, and I love it. You're right, a nearly perfect hunting knife. What are the scales made of on yours, they look like smoothed black micarta?

Those are really cool pictures bro. Looks to have been a fun time. And that is one extremely happy dog.....of course how could he not be with all that INFI !!
