Hey fellas - I packed my son up and took out to a local state forest for a short 4 mile hike. It was beautiful out and there were a bunch of horses on the trail that he loved looking at.
I brought along the Project W but didn't get to use it or play with it since I had my boy strapped to my back in a backpack. I love getting him out and about and used to the trails from an early age. He sits very contently on my back and looks around at everything. I enjoy the extra weight as well for the added resistance. It's a cool feeling being able to take my son out and about , my wife works 3 weekends a month so we get plenty of father/son time. These 7 months have FLOWN by.
The Project W is a great knife. I can't fine a method of carry that suits me though. I don't like it horizontally on my belt as it's designed because the butt of the handle sticks out too far. I tied some 550 cord on it to carry as a neck knife, but I'm not a fan of anything hanging around my neck, so it didn't last long on my neck.
I finally ended up with it in my RF pocket and it fit in there perfectly.
I'll keep playing around with it and see if I can find a position that I like.
I'm really glade Jake helped to design this knife and that it was created - it's my favorite, small FB. It fits perfectly in my hand and the skeletonized design takes up little space. The spine edges are 90 degree angles so they are sharp enough to strike a firesteel with.
Here are some pics - not too many but it was a great day. I've been trying to focus more on enjoying my surroundings and not trying to catch every little thing on camera.
It seemed alomst foggy in there
Here are the two that made the cut for the trip
