I decided to create one to augment what I normally have in my pockets (SAK,lighter,Inova X1 light). I made up a tin based kit but never seemed to carry it.

So I decided on a belt pouch kit and figured I'd attach it to my EDC BK11. I wanted it to have the bare minimum and take up as little space as possible.I used a multitool pouch that I added Velcro to the back of the belt loop. Then I covered both sides of my Becker sheath with Velcro so it can be worn either side.

When worn the BK11 is held by the Velcro on the back of the case loop, between the belt and pants.Very secure thus far.

The contents of my kit are, a large roasting bag, whistle, mag fire starter, cotton ball tinder, three hooks, 25' of three strand 165# nylon twine, and the quart size Ziploc bag.

And a shot of the kit on my belt. Compact enough to stay out of the way.

That's a neat little belt kit, pretty low profile too. One small change I might make, though, is a few chlorine tabs for water purification.

Hi Friend,

That's pretty cool. Looks like the blade handle might be a bit of a rib poker though. Just wondering, would there be a way to do what you did but extend the sheath longer so the pouch can attached higher up, thus the blade could set lower down?

Since you have this good solution for stuff, I'm wondering what you do for first aid stuff?

Thanks, Phil

Looks like a great start to your kit. You need to stick some FAK items in there, but great job on the carry system!

Nothing...this is just a bare bones ,better than nothing kit. The kind you can carry every day or when you go out for a three hour tour and end up on Gilligan's Island.:)

My kit for when I think there is a strong chance of needing it has more stuff.

Sort of but I am used to it as I carry all my fixed blades up high.It really doesn't bother me.

I don't think I could drop this setup and still retain the solid hold of the Becker/velcro/belt.
