My partner and I took a bushwalk (the first since my knee has played up) and it was a great spring day. We took off to the hills to check out an area we've not seen before. This is not typical Aussie bush. The area had extensive bushfires in the fifties and they replanted groves of European and American trees; redwood, maple, beech, elm, rhododendron, dogwood, liquid amber, oak.

Thought I would share some pics (phone pics so a bit crappy, sorry)

We found this small tree had recently fallen and the NP had carved a nice path thru.

This is more typical of the Aussie bush we see in the south-east of Australia.

Had a great day and after 11km my knee is feeling fine so I'll get back into it might even do some multi day hikes as the weather gets warmer.
Thanks for looking
Cheers

nice pics to come from a phone, looks like nice terrain. you make me envious. :D

Great pic man, Austalia has absolutely beautiful country. Too bad I only seen it through pictures.

thanks guys, it was great just getting out of the city and being surrounded by a large chunk of nature. We only saw a woman and her dog (about 200 metres into it) and a picnicking family (in the last 500 metres) for the whole hike, just the sounds, smells and sights of the bush, brilliant. There are so many places to see and so little time.

That is a place I hope to visit someday. Thanks for sharing the pics! :D
