I noticed the springs are on the outside of the toothed gears on the Cross-Grip, but they're on the inside of the gears on the Cross-Cut. I was wondering why.
The scissors on the CrossCut are narrow enough to allow the spring to be on the inside. When we developed the CrossGrip (which came second), the plier head was fatter and took up more room inside the tool, thus requiring the springs to be moved to the outside.
