Who does and who doesn't, and why?
Most of the time they would be great EDC knives, but their rarity makes us hesitate.
Discuss.......

Essentially, everything I EDC is a Sprint. I just enjoy the different scale colors and steels. I only own a few standard models. *shrug*

I carry the blue M390 PM2 almost every day. The design and steel are both some of the best I've ever used. Not carrying it would just make it a small $180 brick sitting in a drawer, which is definitely not why I bought it.

I buy sprints to try out new steels, if it doesn't get used I can't figure out which steels I like and don't like.

I also EDC the Blue PM2 and I've got the brown CTS-XHP Milie coming which I'll be carrying and using as well.

All of my Spyderco's are sprints except for my left handed Military. I carry and use them all; I don't see any reason not to.

I do carry a sprint from time to time, the ones that get carried were bought by me and are now users. Why not is the question I have for you. Not sure there is that much left to discuss. What am I missing?

I really want to edc the PM2 with S90V and CF.. Can't find any though. I edc all my Spyderco's..

if you're not planning to sell it, why do you want to keep it pristine?

i use all my knives, sprint or otherwise

Can't wait to get my M390 PM2 to EDC. Less sharpening is much better, blue scales I don't really care about.

Most of my EDC's are sprints - they're too expensive to lie unused in the drawer!

When I manage to wear one out (which is extremely unlikely) I'll pick up the next "Big Thing". Until then I get maximum enjoyment from my investment.

I do not carry any sprints. Just no luck for me yet. I carry production models, which I love much more than their sprints (I love my Black Persian much more than it's red brother and I love my VG10 Caly3.5 more than SB. Just not a carbon steel fan). I carry Kopa Cocobolo and can only hope to see sprint in the future. But I can promises that if Spyderco will make Native5 with XHP or 204P with orange or dark green scales.

Some people buy them for collector pieces, others buy them as investments to sell at a profit later, others by them to use. I would fall into being either a user or collector. There can be enjoyment in both. I. Just wondered what others thoughts were not the subject. You and I spent our hard earned money on knives because we might enjoy using them, but some people buy a Ferrari just to show people that they have a Ferrari.

I carry all my PM2s, and I only own sprints. I do "collect" them, but not so they can sit in a drawer. I like variety in my EDC, so I almost never go a whole week with the same knife in my pocket all week.

My key chain knife for nearly nine years has been a burgundy Micarta Jester. Not a Sprint per-se, but only because that term had not yet come into use. Over the years I've also carried several Sprint Run variants on the FRN Calypso Jr. and there are also quite a few other Spydercos that would be classified as rare and/or collectible which I carry from time to time. Among those are a WTC Knife which gets carried every year on 9/11, modded cocobolo and jigged bone Kopas and a 2009 Forum Native that see occasional pocket time, a red bone Kiwi with pinned scales which is one of only 12 made that way, a very well used pre-production Chaparral that was my go-to knife when I was packing up to move here from NY last year, and a super special bolstered Stretch with cocobolo scales.

I often buy two sprints - one to carry, and the other to hoard. Yeah, its spendy and wasteful, but so what. What can I say - I like my Spydies.

My LFP is always occupied by either a blue, gray, or orange para 2 and often with a grey SB caly. I bought them to try out the steels and I found that I like them a lot. I also feel that I get my money's worth when I use my knives. Additionally, I like to put my own edge on knives I carry(I loves me a polished bevel). If I just bought to fondle, I'd have gotten knives in 420J2.

I already have backups for my grey and blue para and my SB Caly. I had a line on a 2nd green para but a friend wasn't able to get in on the pre-order so that one is slated for him.

I have carried the brown cts-xhp millie for about a year now every day, lots of knives have came and gone but that one seems to really excel at everything, she's seen some pretty hard use, strange thing is yesterday when I replaced it in my pocket I guess the blade hung back up on something and next thing i know I have a four inch blade protruding from pants pocket outward..went through nomex/kevlar pants like butter..lucky it decided to open outward and not inward..checked the detent and it's tight as ever so it was totally my fault, that friggin thing is an absolute scalpel.
