Sprint run EDC?

Most of the time they would be great EDC knives, but their rarity makes us hesitate.
Discuss.......

They are great EDCs and I never hesitate to carry them. That's what they are for. Currently Caly 3.5SB. Unlike an earlier poster, I LOVE carbon steel and SB is a great one.

Some people buy them for collector pieces, others buy them as investments to sell at a profit later, others by them to use. I would fall into being either a user or collector. There can be enjoyment in both. I. Just wondered what others thoughts were not the subject. You and I spent our hard earned money on knives because we might enjoy using them, but some people buy a Ferrari just to show people that they have a Ferrari.
Agreed. I like to collect and use both.

I buy sprints for myself and I carry them and use them. I can't justify buying them if they will just sit around.

+1 I get alot of joy out of just looking at and fondling my knives, but that's mostly in the honeymoon phase and over quickly. I get far more enjoyment out of using and carrying them. Sprints are no different, they are just an opportunity to try a new steel in a unique package. Once you get a scratch or two on it, it's alot easier to continue using it like you would any other knife. ymmv

I carry my M390 and XHP Para2's, but I have gotten away from them since I have gotten a good number of new knives recently. Right now I prefer to carry a Strider or my ZT 0561.

I think this happens a lot. For me, it's a lot like getting a new pair of boots. I will baby them until they get the first couple of scratches, then they go into "normal" user rotation.

I thought there are only two para 2 sprints cf s90v and gray g10 cuts 20cp. Rest are just money makers

Edc a sprint run??? That's crazy talk!

I like the answers here. Why not edc a sprint? As investements, doesnt make much sense.

I got a Manix 2 in XHP steel without a box here on BF... So it had no choice but to be a user! But, considering the non-secondary market price, it isn't that crazy to EDC a sprint, especially if I has a good EDC steel. A lot of the time, for just 20 dollars more, a sprint makes a "better?" and cooler EDC blade.

Just so fun to use a sprint, and if it gets beat up, just get someone to stone wash the blade and your knife becomes like new again!

I alternate between a gray Para 2 and a gray Caly 3.5 for EDC. Got a Blue Para 2, but it's so nice I can't bring myself to start using it yet, but I definitely will soon.

I just sold the only knife I was afraid to EDC (sniff sniff... it was hard to let go).

My current policy is that if it doesn't get carried, it gets sold.

I love to use my knives, but I do have a collecter side. A lot of times when I get a new sprint I will keep it prestine for a while and just enjoy the knife from time to time and put it away. Then eventually it will become an edc. Theres nothing wrong with being a collector that keeps safe queens. Just because a person doesnt use the knife doesnt mean that person doesnt enjoy the knife.

Almost everyone who uses a knife enjoys the benefits of people who collect knives to be safe queens. Without their investment there would be a lot less money and risk taking in the knife community. (Would Spyderco even have an ethnic series if people didn't collect them?)
