OK Dave, I'll bite. Email sent. If you get a large response I will bow out to let a newbie have a go.

Sweet looking little knife. I'll try it. Same as Greymoor as far as the number of responses go. Let me know if I need to e-mail you all that info or not.

Great Idea and a very generous offer. I have one of these knives and I carry it most all the time. It is very unobtrusive and the totally serrated blade is EXTREMELY sharp and efficient. I think you guys that don't own one of these will definately want one after you get to play with it for a while.

If we can get a couple more people tonight I'll get this ready to go.

Hey Dave,

If it isn't too much trouble, could you bump me down a few slots. It seems I should receive the Rescue 93 passaround in about a week, and I don't want to have both at the same time. Wouldn't be able to really get a feel for each knife. If it is going to be a problem, then just keep the list as is.

Thanks,

Mike

Dave,

Navigator arrived a few minutes ago - cool little knife! It's definitely not intimidating. Vry ergonomic handle and blade positioning. I really like the Almite finish, almost like a gun-metal gray. You're right, the backspring is a little stiff, so this is obviously a very new knife. I considered buying one pre-9/11, becuase of it's acceptence on airlines. Despite this no longer being the case, after a few minutes of handling, it's definitely on my knives to be considered list. If you decide to sell this one after the Pass-around, please keep me in mind. I'll write more after using it for a few days. Thanks for this opportunity.

I replaced my Brad Duncan Mini-Whiplash as my EDC with the Almite Navigator for three days. Although, it certainly didn't open like a Whiplash, it handled every day-to-day task that I threw at it. The blade is on the small side, but that works to its' advantage in this PC crazy world. The handle is quite ergonomic, and a pleasure to hold. My hands are on the small side, and I found the Spyderco to be a perfect fit.

There was no hard core or field-testing performed. Afterall, this is not a tactical or survival knife. But, if anyone is looking for a relatively inexpensive EDC, look no farther than the Spyderco Navigator - preferably with the Almite finish. Thanks again Dave for sharing your knives with us.

Those were the first words out of my mouth a couple minutes ago when I opened the package. It's on the small side but still fits my hand very good, and that almite finish is very attractive. The blade is suprizingly small but as fisherk said that will work to it's advantage. With this I won't get looks when using it like I did back when I used my Benchmade 31 before switching to some $5 cheapy then to the S. Delica because of those looks.
I'll tell you what I'll be using it for at work then 3 days from now I'll tell you how it worked out. Alot of the products I pick are wrapped in shrinkwrap, and I have to cut it to get to the products. Also, with some of the skids there is this rather tough cord type of thing that has to be cut to get to the products. (This Navigator is plain edge, and those cords are the one thing I'm worried it won't work well with because I pretty much need a partially serrated edge to get through it unless I just hack it) I will also be using it to cut peices of a huge piece of cardbourd to cover bannanas. And lastly, I sometimes need to cut a cornerpeice made of cardboard that sticks up and jepordizes the stability of the skid which can be a PITA. Everything I do is timed so I need a knife that will get it's job done and do it quickly, judging by the other spyderco I have it will, but I'll test it out for 3 days and tell ya how things went.

Dave,
I really appreciate this opportunity to actually use a knife before deciding whether or not to buy one. Thanks.
