Couldn't find a direct comparison on these two. Going to order one for edc I think.

I prefer the blade steels offered in the Buck Vantage line over the 8cr13mov of the Tenacious. Even the 420HC of the Buck is great, especially with the Bos heat treat. I carry the Buck Vantage Force Select and the Pro (S30v) regularly. The Buck Vantage Force just feels better to me. It and the Tenacious are very comparable in size, and both are very well made liner lock knives.

In terms of blade steel, I prefer bucks 420 HC to spydercos 8cr13mov. In term of blade shape, ergos and every other factor, the Spyderco tenacious would be my choice. I've heard the buck vantage is difficult to flick open due to a badly placed thumb hole. But if you're looking for a good edc in that range, I would suggest an Ontario rat 1, liked it more than my tenacious, hence the fact I sold my tenacious and still have my rat

Large Vantage. Flipper, thumb hole, deep carry clip, much more "pocketable" (takes up less room and is rounded off), excellent useable blade profile, approx $10 cheaper, US made.
