Spyderco Leaf Storm by Kevin Wilkins
Why graphic artists make the leap to knife making is self explanatory. Their work in designing and creating art comingles with their knife passion, in some cases their knife obsession, blurring the lines between livelihood and hobby. American Kevin Wilkins started as a graphic designer and art student then an art director. He moved to Berlin in the early 90s where the knife bug really sank in. By 1995 he worked out how to make his hobby a livelihood and one of his favorite designs he called the Leaf Storm.
Spyderco's production version, like his original custom piece, fits and carries in the watch-pocket of a pair of denim jeans. It features a Chris Reeve style integral Lock with the back titanium handle scale doubling as the lock's liner. Screw together construction attaches the titanium back to a natural colored G-10 front scale. A hollow-ground CPM S30V blade has a ricasso, spine jimping and is available in a PlainEdge"

Asking $160
2. Spyderco Navaja ~ C147CF.
The knife was regrinded by Tom Krein and was carried for about a week. Used to cut couple times. No visible wear, except minor scratches on the bolster. Carraca is working fine so far.
Per Spyderco web site:
http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=632
"length overall 8.625 " (219 mm) blade length 3.875 " (98 mm) blade steel CPM S30V
length closed 4.75 " (121 mm) cutting edge 3.156 " (80 mm) weight 5.1 oz. (145 g)
blade thickness .125 " (3 mm) handle material Carbon Fiber / G-10 Laminate
Unique to the Navaja is the Carraca or ratcheting sound it produces when the blade opens and closes. Carraca ratcheting generates a reaction similar to the sound of chambering a round in a firearm, distinctively announcing the knife's presence and has been attributed to deterring a criminal or criminal behavior.
American Knifemaker Ed Schempp built a reputation on comingling Ethnic cutlery with the modern folder. His Spyderco Navaja collaboration incorporates the mystique of the Carraca with a traditional-shaped handle made with textured carbon fiber/G-10 laminate and stainless steel bolsters. The blade is Crucible Steel CPM S30V with the customary Navaja concave blade shape.
Inside the handle is a Michael Walker LinerLock with a textured liner. Outside the handle is an hourglass pocket clip with four-way compatible positioning, enabling the knife to be carried and drawn from the pocket tip-up/tip-down and/or left/right handed. The Spyderco Navaja showcases a form of historical and cultural cutlery made using modern materials and design engineering."
