In the past 2 months I've puchased a few new knives and they have all been spyderco's, my latest today was a delica wave and also my first knife with VG-10 steel. Well VG-10 is now my new favorite steel and I can somehow see more VG-10 blades in my future... but now I have a few questions.

1. what is the RC of the S90V millie and my new delica
2. what is the boye dent
3. why is VG-10 not more popluar or did I miss something

1. don't know
2. the little divot you see on the back locks; it prevents accidental unlocking during certain tight grips...a safety feature
3. you missed something

I believe the spec for the VG-10 is RC 59-61, while the S90V runs around RC 63. I don't have anything handy to back those numbers up, just my own unreliable memory.

VG-10 is probably a better all-around steel, but I prefer the S90V for my work. It takes longer to sharpen, but the edge lasts a LOT longer than VG-10.

With the way both steels feel on ceramic I would say your guess is very close. The millie is my edc after work and sees rare use so edge retension is not a big factor but I still know its their plus the steel is the reason i bought it, the delica is going to be a backup knife for most cutting chores and to save the edge of my main carry. The other knife I forgot to mention was my mule team but its out getting some handles and hopefully a kydex sheath (my first venture to a semi-custom)
