I noticed that Eric said the Advocate is "currently being made by Taiwan." I hope that means it's coming soon!

That video definitely made me want the advocate more than I thought I would. Superb and unique knives, all of them.

With the secondary market price of 240 for the Rubicon 1 vs the Map of the Rubicon 2 being 210....I'd pay the extra 30 for cf.

I really wish they went with cts xhp or 204p steel for the Rubicon 2 and Magnitude....anything but s30v....I have way too many knives with that steel...plus s30v is industry standard now... with those higher prices...You'd think they'd use a different steel. S35vn, s60, 204p, m390, m4, etc.
Im just kind of over s30v. There isnt a huge difference between it and s35vn but i definitely like s35vn better. Seems easier to touch up and i had more micro chipping with s30v. Seems like s35vn wouldve already kicked s30v out of the line up. Especialky with it being the standard for most of the higher end production knives.

I agree, but would rather XHP be the standard replacement.

Did I miss something on the YouTube clip regarding the Sage 5.

That's great news! I really like the CQI improvements on the 204P version. Yippee

Thank you. Waiting to see if this one also had the cqi changes. Order away!

I'm a stranger to 52100. Can someone fill me in on the type of steel this is ?

Stainless or carbon ?

Toughness ? Edge retention ? Corrosion resistance ?

I'll Google it later today when I have more time.

It's a high-carbon bearing steel. Designed for good wear resistance on a very focused point (e.g. the contact point of a ball bearing), so it makes sense as a blade steel. But definitely NOT stainless.

I don't know much more than that. I'm sure others can expand...
