Did anyone else go to the sale?
Here’s what I picked up. The best find was a titanium UK Pen Knife. The cashier was really surprised to see it too. I also got a bunch of other sharpening stones. They had great deals on those.

Ti and Orange UKPK?
Wow! Awesome!
Cool score on the PITS too.

Maybe someday I’ll make a pilgrimage.

I already had the orange one but I paid more for it than the Ti version :)

I only live about 1.5 hours from there right now. I forgot about the sale but bought a knife from a guy on Facebook who was going and lives near there. He reminded me and I met him there for the transaction instead of shipping. Win-win

I'd have alot more spydercos at those prices. Damn it map pricing.

Wow! But do we know generally what's wrong with the factory seconds? Just cosmetic issues, right?

Wow super scores all around. Do they come with boxes?

Nope. No box, no paperwork, no warranty. As is, where is.

MAP has nothing to do with it. Those prices are a way for them to recoup part of their cost of production rather than destroying those knives. Think of them as an annual gift from Sal to us.

Generally, although it can be something mechanical that doesn't affect safety, such as blade play, lock stick or a burned tip during sharpening. That's why it isn't done online like people always want. You go there, you pick knives with defects you can live with, you get great prices.

All of mine had small cosmetic issues only. I had a second Caribbean but the detent ball was missing. When I brought it up to an employee they confiscated it due to safety. That’s a good indication that they avoid putting stuff out with mechanical defects.

I've seen some with uneven primary grinds, discolored or unevenly colored coatings, discolored steel ( my Police 4 second), slight blade warp ( my Maxamet Manix curves to the left about a millimeter), my CF Yojimbo has a couple of shiny spots on the matte CF. I have several seconds that I never have figured out what was supposed to be wrong with them.

What are some of those "cosmetic defects" ?
Any pics?

Mostly just finish wear. Light scratches on the scales, anodizing wear, etc. Honestly, the worst “defect” I found on many of them was the notch they cut in the blade spine to indicate a factory second.
