Basically, the same production Smock for $175 but substituting a better and more expensive steel (20CV vs. S30V) and a cheaper handle material (G-10 vs. CF/G-10). Something different at a comparable price is not a bad thing.

Sorry, you are correct. I got ahead of myself there. In any case, I am happy to see this as I love the steel and I am not a fan of CF/G10 laminate. Can't help but feel this should be the standard Smock.

I suppose but no value added to me and it doesn't fix the "sharp vertical leading edge of the choil" design that I personally consider a "problem."

This is nearly the exact conversation i had with my friend. I told him to do a blade swap between smocks and then pair up the cf/20cv version with the watu! But either way, people are customizing this knife like crazy, im waiting for a smock 2.0.

Pictures don't do justice to the two tone scales on the Para3. I liked it much more in person, however I still threw some micarta on mine.
